No! In fact, many patients come to us for our gentle Japanese acupuncture and facial acupuncture techniques. Some even tell us that the needle insertion was virtually imperceptible. That is because we use the thinnest acupuncture needles available—not much thicker than a human hair. Facial acupuncture is a gentle, natural treatment that enhances the skin’s appearance by increasing circulation, stimulating collagen production and relaxing facial tension. Sometimes called an “acupuncture facelift,” this technique uses very fine needles to encourage a brighter, more even skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines. At Heartwood, we integrate facial acupuncture into a whole-body approach, ensuring inner wellness is reflected on the outside.
