Alison Schneider, MS, LAc
Acupuncturist & Herbalist
I am a mother, writer, and acupuncturist devoted to helping whole families heal and thrive. My areas of expertise are pediatrics, perinatal care, period health, and holistic mental health.

"I have tried many acupuncturists and alternative healers in the past but couldn't find one that could truly address the dimensionality of complex trauma in my body. Alison is a one woman orchestra tuning the mind, body, and spirit with her intuitive and skillful touch to a coherent frequency of wellness. Her gentle needling approach was exactly what my body needed to feel safe enough to activate its self-healing wisdom. Beyond needles, Alison used other modalities that encouraged my body to relax. Healing never felt so good! Alison is a dynamic gifted healer."

my story
My first introduction to natural medicine was through a family heirloom of herbal remedies by Saint Hildegard of Bingen, botanical illustrations intact with the Swiss–German script of my ancestry. Later, immersive wilderness experiences, along with the arrival of a serious illness following time spent abroad in Spain and Patagonia, led me to both receive and then pursue a medicine rooted in nature–classical East Asian Medicine.
For nearly a decade, I have been studying and integrating the tools of classical East Asian medicine and modern neuroscience to help whole families heal and thrive. Informed by a multidisciplinary background in the arts, meditation, and movement therapies, I provide a unique lens in which to see, touch, and unravel old wounds.
In the treatment room, I primarily draw upon Japanese acupuncture and physical medicine, botanical medicine, and thoughtful somatic practices to restore proper organ function, and promote mind body healing. As a new mother, my clinical practice centers women’s health, pediatrics & young adults, gut health, autoimmune disease, and emotional wellness.
Through deep listening, you will learn how to care for your inner landscape, and to tend to the ecosystem of your nervous system, immune system, and psyche. This caretaking is health, which equates to wholeness. This is called nourishing life. You can read more about my approach and toolkit, here.
